Mary Beth is a native Tennessean who grew up in Fairview. Thinking she wanted to be an engineer, Mary Beth chose Tennessee Tech for her undergraduate studies. During a summer engineering program at Tech, she discovered that engineering was not her calling, but she fell in love with the campus. She met Mike during her first year of college, and they have been together since that time. In 1999, Mary Beth graduated with a political science degree with a double minor in History and German Studies.
Continuing the trek east, Mary Beth immersed herself in Big Orange Country for law school. During that time, she and Mike married, and she spent her summers back in Middle Tennessee.
After law school, Mary Beth moved to Rutherford County to be with her husband, who works as plant manager for a manufacturing company in Murfreesboro. She enjoyed working in downtown Nashville for almost six years. But after the birth of her second child, Mary Beth decided to escape the crush of rush-hour traffic and move her practice to Murfreesboro, which is when she joined Blankenship & Blankenship, PLLC.
She and Mike have two energetic, preschool children—a girl and a boy—and two Weimaraners—a boy and a girl—all of whom make life outside of the office interesting and fulfilling. The Hagan family loves to entertain friends, be outside, and watch football. They are members of the Nolensville United Methodist Church and actively participate in the non-profit organization Change for a Chance.
Mary Beth helped form Change for a Chance with two others as an organization that provides financial assistance to people who find themselves in life’s difficult situations. To date, the organization has paid electrical bills for families, paid a down payment for a car, bridged a health insurance gap for a person who could not work due to illness, and filled the gas tank for an unemployed single mom. For more information, check out the organization at www.changeforachance.org.
Around the office, Mary Beth is known as Super MB as she juggles a full-time law practice, preschool activities, ballet classes, swim lessons, birthday parties, and numerous other activities. When she finds time to slow down, she tunes into the creative side of her brain and also likes to read and write.
